The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have put higher education for sustainability (HES) firmly on the agenda. Higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region have made significant commitments towards SDGs and now occupy over one-third of the top positions in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2020.
Yet research on the transformations under HES remains scarce. This webinar, entitled Innovating University Teaching and Learning in Asia, seeks to address that. Researchers will present case studies that promote sustainability in higher education institutions in Japan, China, and Malaysia.
The researchers will seek to address the following questions:
- How have Asia-Pacific higher education institutions responded to the challenges outlined in the SDGs?
- In what ways have Asia-Pacific universities transformed their practices for teaching and learning?
- How have higher education institutions addressed the demands for sustainability under social, economic, cultural, and environmental pressures?
The event is open to the public, but registration is required.
