32nd Tohoku University International Festival

32nd Tohoku University International Festival

The annual Tohoku University International Festival (TUIF) offers participants a unique opportunity to engage with people from around the world, experience different cultures and even learn something about themselves.

Organized by the Tohoku University Foreign Students Association (TUFSA), the event brings together both local and foreign students, as well as residents across Miyagi. In 2016, TUIF attracted more than 5,000 people, some even coming in from other prefectures.

The 32nd installment of TUIF will be held on May 14, and is themed "I am because you are." It will feature some 30 food stalls selling delicacies from a variety of countries.

Visitors can enjoy cultural performances on the stage and try their hand at games, dances and traditional craft in the special Interactive Corner.

The experience is free and open to everyone. There will even be a lucky draw with surprising prizes from all over the world.
