With the spate of online scams across Japan, Tohoku University students have banded together to establish a volunteer group. The group will help monitor and identify potentially harmful information spreading across the internet.
An inauguration ceremony to mark the group's establishment will be held on March 16. Students interested in volunteering their time or resources to the group are highly encouraged to attend.

Time: 2 - 3 p.m.
Venue: Lu Xun Lecture Hall
The group also plans to conduct research into technology that contributes to a safer online environment, and coordinate these efforts with government, industry and academia.
Representatives from the Tohoku Regional Correctional District, Tohoku Regional Police Bureau, and Miyagi Prefectural Police will also be in attendance.
This event is open to Tohoku University students.
