International Seminar on Religion and Gender for Social Participation

The Graduate School of International Cultural Studies is hosting an international seminar on "Religion and Gender for Social Participation."

The seminar will look at the current situation of Muslim women in Malaysia, where Islam is the state religion; and in France, where secularism is the principle. Participants will then discuss the challenges of a pluri-religious society, focusing on the ways of social participation.

Guest speakers are Noraida Endut from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Anne-Sophie Lamine from the University of Strasbourg. The discussant is Naoko Kuwahara from Iwate Prefectural University.
