SXSW Meet Up @ Tohoku University

South by Southwest (SXSW) is world renowned for bringing music, film, and technology together in one city. Hosted every spring in Austin, Texas, the festival attracts over one million people to this vibrant, yet cozy city. For the first time, Tohoku University will host a SXSW 2019 meetup event.

Tohoku first came onto the radar of SXSW exhibitors after the tragic events of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. Various SXSW startups utilized their technology to offer their thoughts and prayers to the Tohoku Region following the disaster.

The SXSW 2019 meetup event takes place at the Aoyama Campus' Buddy Table, showcasing exhibitions from SXSW 2019. It will consist of a lecture followed by a networking event.

The event is designed to be a casual, standing event allowing for a relaxed atmosphere. Light refreshments will also be provided. Those with an interest in SXSW and/or those who have a general interest in film, technology, and startups are welcome to join.
