Recruitment Notice: Postdoctoral Researcher

Tohoku University's Environmental Studies department is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on economic-energy modeling for decentralized energy systems, focusing on rooftop PV, electric vehicles (EVs), and hydrogen systems for urban decarbonization.

The successful candidate will investigate the economic and social constraints of integrating rooftop PV, EVs, and hydrogen systems while considering power grid limitations. The aim is to accelerate energy transition in urban areas by leveraging the potential of these integrated systems for effective and affordable deep decarbonization. Energy Exemplar's PLEXOS software is expected to be used for research.

- A doctoral degree

- Capability of conducting research independently

- Experience in numerical computation programming such as Matlab, Python,

- Proficiency in English to conduct research activities.

- The ability to to work collaboratively with professors and other researchers.


- Experience conducting research that utilizes models of power system systems

- Experience using energy models for decarbonization using renewable energy sources

- Publication of international papers as the first author in the above fields
