Russa's invasion of Ukraine violates the most important fundamental principles of international law, namely the prohibition of the threat or use of force and the peaceful settlement of international conflicts, and is totally unacceptable. On behalf of Tohoku University, I strongly call for the immediate withdrawal from Ukraine of Russian forces and a peaceful solution to the dispute.

Tohoku University will continue to provide necessary support to the members of the Tohoku University community who are affected by this situation.
