The Food Trucks are Back on Campus!

Great news for fans of the campus food trucks!

From October 16 - November 30, a new round of food trucks will be at Kawauchi Campus, once again offering students and staff extra options for lunch.

The trucks are in addition to the regular meal services provided by the campus cafeterias, and should relieve lunchtime congestion. It's also hoped that the trucks will encourage a more lively outdoor atmosphere on campus as the weather cools down.

Period: Oct 16 - Nov 30, 2023 (except weekends, public holidays and during the University Festival)
Time: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Kawauchi-Kita Campus.

Described as a "mobile kitchen," or "kitchen car," the food trucks had a trial run earlier this year at both Kawauchi and Aobayama campuses. The menu then, featured lunch staples such as curry rice, takoyaki and fried chicken bento.

This time, the menu is noticeably more diverse and adventurous, with food items ranging from hamburgers and kebabs, to local favourites like beef tongue and ramen. These tweaks are said to reflect comments and suggestions made in the survey conducted in the spring.

To further assess the feasibility of having these food trucks as a more permanent fixture on campus, another round of surveys will be conducted.
