Job Description
Successful candidates will be engaged in research and education related to English Literature. In particular, the candidate should have an outstanding record of scholarship on 19th- and/or 20th-century English novels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for thesis supervision and teaching English Literature (and other related courses) at the graduate and undergraduate level.

Qualifications
- Hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
- Ability to teach classes, supervise students, and carry out administrative duties in the Japanese language
- Demonstrated expertise in English literature and its related fields, such as cultural studies and comparative literature
- Able to teach English poetry (with preferably at least one academic semester of teaching experience)
- Strong interest in, and/or substantial experience with, material approaches to cultural production, field-based research, and plurilingual educational practices

Renumeration
The salary will be determined in accordance with Tohoku University's employment regulations. Allowances for transport, housing, and dependents may be provided depending on circumstances.
