Come and meet anime screenwriter and producer Yoshiki Sakurai at Tohoku University's Kawauchi Campus this Thursday.
Sakurai graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in economics. But it is his work in Japanese animation and his award-winning theses on Japanese subculture that have made him a household name.
Sakurai has been involved in many of Production I.G's successful projects over the years. But he is perhaps best known for being the screenwriter on "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex," and a writer and producer on "Giovanni's Island."
His talk on campus, which is part of the Global Career Seminar series, will be in English.
