Recruitment for Student Relay Race

The Tohoku University Athletic Club is holding its 41st relay contest on June 20. The contest is broken into two main categories: the general division and the sports club division. Students depart from Kawauchi Campus to run a course that goes through the Aobayama Campus.

Teams wanting to participate in the contest need to apply by June 12 (Friday). Applications can be made in front of the Welfare Facilities on Kawauchi Campus from 12:15~12:45pm or the Athletic Club Rooms in the Kawauchi Sub Arena Building from 4:30~6:30pm (weekdays only).

Opening ceremony: 12:30pm (registration starts at 12:00pm)
Start time: 1:00pm
Finish time: 3:30pm
Organiser: Tohoku University Athletics Club

The start and finish line will be outside the Kawauchi Campus Welfare Facilities. This is also the location for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Relay course:
Kawauchi Welfare Facilities > Kawauchi Kameoka Police Box > Kameoka Hachiman-gu Shrine > Aobayama Mountain Equestrian Club > School of Science > Aoba Bridge > Kawauchi Welfare Facilities

Contest outline: each team is made up of 4 people, with a full course being run by each member (a total of 4 courses are run).

The contest is broken into two main categories:
・ the general division
・ the sports club division

Note:
  • the relay race will still go ahead in rain. In the case of cancellation, a representative from each team will be notified by phone or email.
  • contestants must keep to the left at all times, and abide to rules given by course personnel or they risk being disqualified.
  • warm up exercises must be done by individuals.
  • course personnel will monitor the course. A doctor will be on standby at the main headquarters in the AB Lecture Building on Kawauchi Campus.
