Job Description
The successful candidate will actively participate in promoting English language education reform and teaching English courses. They will also be involved in:
- Research on and practice of English language education at the university level
- Helping to develop and improve the General Education English curriculum
- Additional duties at the Center for Culture and Language Education, Institute for Excellence in Higher Education

Qualifications
- Ph.D. in English education or a related field, or equivalent qualifications and abilities.
- Some experience teaching English language classes at the university level.
- Other:
- Candidates must have the necessary educational experience and research achievements to carry out the responsibilities described above and also have the enthusiasm and ability to take part in English language education reform.
- Ability to teach all types and proficiency levels (CEFR B1 to B2) of English classes at our university.

Candidates with sufficient Japanese proficiency to work and complete tasks in Japanese will be given preference. (Please submit a copy of your Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) score report or equivalent certificate, if available.)

- List of educational and research achievements (separated into books, journal articles, conference presentations, and others). For journal articles, list only those that are published or in press. Clearly state whether each article is peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed, and classify them as "peer-reviewed articles" or "non-peer-reviewed articles." Number each item consecutively within each category. For educational achievements, clearly state the name of the institution, course title, period of instruction, number of class hours for each course, and the level of the students.
- Copies of three major research papers (in PDF format) selected from the list in (2) above, along with summaries of each paper in Japanese (approximately 300 Japanese characters per paper).
- Statement: Based on your experience in English language education and your teaching skills, describe how you can contribute to the implementation of Tohoku University's General Education English curriculum and its administration. (Approximately 1,500 Japanese characters or 800 words in English)
- The name, affiliation, and contact information of an additional individual who can provide insight into your qualifications.
- A copy of your Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) score certificate, or an equivalent exam score, if available (for non-native Japanese speakers only).
