Job Description
The successful candidate will be engaged in research and education related to political science. In particular, the Laboratory of Political Communication seeks applicants who approach political issues arising in the modern information society using mathematical or quantitative methods.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree and have globally outstanding achievements and prospects in the above-mentioned specialized field. Applicants must have a strong commitment to research and education. All nationalities are welcome; however, applicants must be able to conduct lectures and perform on-campus duties in Japanese.

About the Department
The Graduate School of Information Sciences (GSIS), established in 1993, promotes interdisciplinary research and education in both the fundamentals and frontiers of information science. Its distinctive strength lies in its diverse academic background, bringing together expertise from fields such as mathematics, computer science, engineering, biology, linguistics, psychology, sociology, political science, and economics.
The Department of Human-Social Information Sciences focuses on interdisciplinary research addressing major societal challenges related to the environment, cities, population, resources, and energy. It integrates approaches from the human sciences, social sciences, and civil engineering to develop new methods for understanding complex human-social systems. Particular emphasis is placed on information and communication, including their theoretical foundations and their social, political, and economic impacts.
