Université de Lorraine's Vice-President for International Strategy Visits Tohoku University

On May 15, Professor Cécile Nouvel, Vice-President for International Strategy at Université de Lorraine, France, visited Tohoku University and met with Executive Vice President Masahiro Yamaguchi (International Strategy and Global Education Initiatives) and Chief Global Officer Dr. Marie-Pierre Favre.

Tour of NanoTerasu

During their meeting, the university leadership discussed building on the foundations of a 2020-2025 program to generate further cooperation. In addition to talks on advancing joint research, the Université de Lorraine delegation made constructive suggestions on topics such as short-term student exchange programs and strengthening personnel exchange.

The delegation also toured the 3GeV synchrotron radiation facility NanoTerasu, had an informal meeting at the Center for Integrated Japanese Studies, and visited the Graduate School of Engineering, where they saw its cutting-edge equipment and held in-depth discussions on potential collaboration in various fields.

This visit is expected to promote collaboration between the two universities and advance exchange across multiple fields.
