Following the 7.7M earthquake off the Sanriku coast, the Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a warning that strong aftershocks could subsequently occur off the coast of Hokkaido and northeastern Honshu.

We ask all students, faculty and staff to review your department's disaster response protocols and emergency contact networks so that you know what to do in the event of another earthquake. Please prioritize your personal safety.
