New sponsors this spring include Fuji Sangyo Co., Ltd., and Aoki Fruit Co., Ltd.

Tohoku University began this 100-yen breakfast programme in spring 2021 as a way to "fill the hearts and stomachs of students" and support those financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The programme has grown in scope and popularity over the years, and continues to be an important part of the Tohoku University Alumni Association's "Support Student Life!" campaign.
